Regrets…I Have a Few

Tiny House Advisor

Most of us probably have regrets about various things in our lives. These regrets can involve jobs, family, the way we spent our time, finances and, more than likely, a few more. I have a few of these myself. But I have to say, now that I have been in a tiny house for a few years, my biggest regret is not doing it sooner. I think of all those wasted years taking care of all the stuff, buying it, sorting it, organizing it, storing it and insuring it, when I really didn’t need it at all. Now that I … Continue reading →

Tiny House Adventures

Tiny House Advisor

I am recently back from three tiny house events. My fellow enthusiast and I left the Tampa, FL, area and traveled to Nashville, TN, then to Nags Head, NC, and then back to Vero Beach, FL. It was a long trip, but it was exhilarating to be with the groups of interested people and hearing their personal stories. Last fall I had a conversation with an adventurous man who had packed his van and traveled to Florida without reservations. He planned to rent a place for the winter months. Much to his surprise upon arrival, he had a difficult time finding anything available so late in the season. Luckily, he found a small efficiency apartment. After a few weeks of living in a tiny space, he told me, he experienced a big revelation. He never realized how little space he needed to be comfortable. Maybe that is what tiny-house wannabe’s need to do. Rent an efficiency or spend … Continue reading →

Interested, Yes…But

Tiny House Advisor

It never ceases to amaze me that when I mention anything about Tiny Houses, how many people know about the movement and are interested in it. I love to watch their faces light up when they tell me how much they enjoy hearing about tiny houses and even wish they could live in one. I listen to them and I am more and more convinced that we are definitely on to something BIG…or should I say tiny? Truth be known, many of these people are just wishful thinkers who get caught up in the idea, but can’t imagine themselves getting … Continue reading →
