Which Appliances?
I have long been an advocate for smaller appliances in a tiny house. I have noticed that unless you are cooking for a crowd or a holiday meal, most people use the right front burner and unless you are an avid baker, the oven isn’t used often. And the same thing goes for those large refrigerators that take up a lot of room. And since most of us know that every fraction of an inch counts when designing your own tiny house, large appliances can be space hogs.
It will help a lot if you do your research ahead of time by paying attention to your cooking habits and what you store in the refrigerator. I recently read some articles on the Internet about all the foods most of us store in the refrigerator that aren’t necessary and, in many cases, not good for the food. I won’t list them all here, but I suggest you Google “what foods should not be stored in the refrigerator” and see for yourself. Maybe you will find some changes to make in the way you store food that can help with space saving.
Just think about it, if you can change your storage habits, that alone can help you consider smaller appliances, leaving you more room for other important things to have in your home.
