Exhaust-ing
I have seen a lot of tiny houses that don’t appear to have any kind of exhaust fan near the cooking area. It is important to consider this when cooking, especially in a small space. That fact came home yesterday when I was cooking some scallops, which made our whole place smell like fish. Frequently, various food odors can linger in even much larger homes. So, it is a good idea to consider ways you can have some kind of exhaust system in your tiny house or small living space. Even with exhaust ventilation, I would consider what foods I am cooking and what effect they will have in the small space I live in. That doesn’t mean I can’t prepare some of our favorites, one way or another. I could always use the outdoor grill for foods that may cause a lasting odor. And for people who live in a THOW (Tiny House on Wheels), you may want to consider a Magma grill that are mainly used by boaters. They are small, round, available in both charcoal and propane gas, and are usually mounted on a boat rail. I am sure an owner of a Tiny House could figure out a way to mount it. How cool it is, when I want to cook or grill our favorite meals, I can use the grill and not worry about the odors they may create in our Tiny Home.
