I took this picture of Dr. Ben Carson while he was visiting the Core Housing Solutions exhibit and its builders at HUD’s Innovative Housing Showcase. He agreed that this will be an inaugural event, being held every year. He was promoting affordable housing and pushing municipalities around the country to lighten up their strict building codes to allow accessory dwelling units. We still have a ways to go, but the future is looking brighter when we have such prestigious advocates.
