So…What’s in the Fridge?

Tiny House Advisor

I have taken a couple random pictures of my refrigerator, without straightening it out…just an everyday look at it. You can see I have a lot stored in it, because it holds a lot. And it is only a 10 cu. ft. That means it is 2 feet wide and 5 feet tall. It works really well for my husband and me. You can save a lot of money purchasing this size, which can be found at places like Home Depot or Lowes. I’ve seen beautiful specialty sizes in some of the tinies that are on display at the popular … Continue reading →

Cleaning Out the Closet

Tiny House Advisor

The closet is often where things are put that you are not sure of where to put them. It frequently houses things that don’t even belong there. The best way to get the job done, the fastest most efficient way is to pick a day that you feel you can devote to the job. Maybe that rainy afternoon with nothing else on your agenda for the day. Start early enough so you can finish the job in one day. Let’s start in your bedroom. The first step to take is make your bed and take everything out of your closet … Continue reading →

Building Materials

Tiny House Advisor

Building Materials – New Because new technology and new materials are constantly coming on the market, you will want to do your own research and keep yourself updated. In view of this, I will not attempt to make any recommendations. However, I will suggest that it is very important to find the best, safest materials available on the market today. When you are living in small spaces and in close proximity to the walls, floors and ceilings, it is even more important to eliminate any possible toxic materials that are frequently found in new products. So be sure to check … Continue reading →

The Joy of Downsizing

Tiny House Advisor

“Joy is not in things; it is in us.” – Richard Wagner This is a great quote that is so perfect for all of us tiny house lovers on the planet. Amazingly, many people can’t imagine the joy of downsizing until they actually get rid of all their stuff and simplify their life. A greater awareness about this truth is that once they downsize, declutter and get rid of their excessive belongings, they start to notice that they can easily get rid of even more things than they initially did when starting the process. Since I originally moved into my … Continue reading →

"action" boxes

Action Hero

Tiny House Advisor

Think about it. You have been accumulating your belongings for years, so don’t even imagine you can start downsizing in a weekend. I read tips and articles about the best way to get started and most of the time the experts tell you to begin with a drawer, or a closet or even one room and get 3 or 4 boxes, labeling them ‘Donate’, ‘Keep’, ‘Share’ and ‘Store’ or something equivalent to that. They say, “Then, just start dividing!” That is all well and good, but until you are really ready to get serious, this is not the easiest thing … Continue reading →
